Dave initially became interested in repairing devices through his passion for building high-fidelity studio gear for the Lost Oscillation studio (such as his clones of the UREI 1176 compressor, and Neumann u87 microphone).
He looks at just about anything for repair – be it an amplifier, a mixing console, a turntable or even a vintage synthesizer.
MAC, iPHONE & iPAD
With 10 years of experience repairing Apple’s desktop & mobile hardware, Dave is an expert in the field. He can diagnose and repair unknown issues, as well as common jobs, such as…
- Screen repair
- Battery replacement
- Charging port replacement
- Keyboard/Trackpad replacement
- Liquid Damage repair (+ see MICROSOLDERING)
Dave is a microsoldering specialist – he uses expensive equipment, designed for working with tiny components, such as an Amtech microscope, Hakko & Weller Hot-air & microsoldering irons and a Crest Ultrasonic cleaner.
This combination of tools and expertise makes it possible for him to repair devices which most places turn away. If you’ve spilt liquid into your Apple device, bring it to Lost Oscillation, if you’ve got a device which Apple or another shop have told you is unrepairable – bring it to Lost Oscillation.
Of course, some devices really are unrepairable, so all microsoldering jobs come with a strict ‘no fix, no fee’ policy. You’re taking no financial risk by bringing a device in for a repair.
REPAIRS ARE PERFORMED BY DAVE ON-SITE. THERE IS NO DIAGNOSTICS CHARGE AND ALL WORK IS WARRANTIED FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS.
